ScrapTiffany: Me!

If I knew how to play music on my blog, I'd be playing... "wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I, wanna talk about number one oh my me my!" The challenge this week at ScrapTiffany.com was to make a page about me! I think it's pretty self explanatory. But, I can elaborate if you'd like. :)

I've used a TON of product with this piece, so I've tried to list each product beneath each picture. You can check this post, and this one for details as to how I've made some of the ATC cards, and the butterfly.

I used the napkin collection kit from US Art Quest. It comes with 16 napkins, PPA, and some Crystal Copperstone Effectz

I used the frame of the ATC card to create this layout.

I sprayed the frame with Tattered Angels Dreamsicle Glimmer Mist. (Did you know you can buy Glimmer Mists at Joann Fabrics and right now they are on sale for $6.00 click on the glimmer mist link to be taken to JA's website.)

After the frame dried, I used Tim Holtz's Distress Ink along with a 'script' stamp.

All that glitters... must be mica!

Tomorrow, I'll revel the entire project I've put together using the ATC cards. But for today, two more pieces and, how I made them.

Using PPA matte, I attached the piece of music paper.
Then, I separated the two layers of the napkin, and 'tore' the part that I wanted to focus on. (Can you see the word 'imagine' towards the bottom?)
I put down the PPA laid the napkin down, and then applied another coat of PPA.
Once dry, I placed the tiny alphas, and then the fabric tag from Webster's Pages and applied MORE PPA! :)
Once dry, I attached the metal saying from Making Memories.

Materials:
US Art Quest PPA Matte.
US Art Quest napkin collection kit.
US Art Quest art canvas.
Making Memories tiny alpha. "Faith"
Making Memories Metal Saying. "What a joy you bring to my life."
Websters Pages tag: "If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves."
Music paper.

Check out this gorgeous mess!!

First, I laid down the butterfly screen, then applied 101 heavy using a spoon.

I lifted the screen and while the 101 heavy was still wet, I used my little dipper to color the 101 heavy with mica d'lights.

SO so so easy! Just wait till you've seen what I've done with it! :)

ScrapTiffany: Thrifty Thursday- USE YOUR SCRAPS!

I can't deny it.

I save EVERYTHING.

Every single little piece of paper that is trimmed.

Every single little piece of ribbon that is too short to tie in a bow.

Every single little piece of scrap.

I know I'll use it, at some point. I WILL.

No, this is not a confession. Or the beginning of a self help group- this is ME encouraging YOU to save your scrap!!

This is why...

I recently made a mini album for a ScrapTiffany challenge: Favorite Manufacture. I love Bella Blvd. And I love that most of the papers, from every line, fit nicely together. So, why not make a layout using my scraps?

1. Take your pieces, no matter the size, and trim them to all different smaller sizes! They can be 1/8" wide or 1" wide if you'd like. I like to keep them long. It's okay if the paper hangs off the edge of the background paper because you can trim it.

2. I cover a 4X6 (ish) area with adhesive. I wouldn't suggest using glue- as it may dry before you've placed all of your paper.

3. Place your pre cut strips of paper in any 'ole fashion, make sure the scrap piece is touching the adhesive when it's placed. You wouldn't want it to wiggle out.

4. Once you've covered the card stock with your scraps place a piece of paper on top of the area where you added adhesive.

5. Then add your picture(s), embellishments and journaling, and you have a beautiful layout made from scraps!

The layout below was created the same way, but using bigger scraps, and I actually used my sewing machine to attach/adhere all the layers together. You have to be careful with this because you don't want to get adhesive in your needle. It'll make a huge mess. So I put my adhesive more towards the center of the background page.

New Post

Remember, I've switched my blog! You can find it at:

www.CanYouPixelThis.com

I've posted a new mini album today.

I've been busy getting ready for my trip to Michigan. I'll be taking a long weekend to spend some time with family and friends. I'll also be photographing a wedding next weekend.

I'll be spending tomorrow at the shoppe, Scrapper's Boutique. If anyone is interested in joining me, I'll be there at ten am. I've got a lot to work on so I'm not sure how long I'll be there, but I don't expect to stay through crop night.
