01.26.09

On Friday I found another crafty project on Martha Stewart's website.

I had to run to the store to pick up wax paper, otherwise we had all the other necessary items.

I laid out a piece of wax paper on the table.

I picked my crayons and peeled them. Orange, pink and red.

Using the cheese grater I shaved the crayon onto the waxed paper (too much crayon to be perfectly honest).

Then I ironed over the wax paper

(This isn't going to make sense just yet, but just roll with it!)

I went to Barnes and Noble on Thursday in search of a book to alter for a journal I am making. I found a perfect book, less then $5.00 and it's gorgeous! Empty pages, pages of quotes and tattered edges. Have a look...

I cut a heart out of the wax paper (above) and melted the crayon heart onto the cover of the book.

I covered a chipboard heart (Cosmo Cricket Buck Naked Buttons) with paper (Laundry Line) then I cut several pages of the book, in the heart shape, so the book will close flat.

I picked up a gorgeous button to match the fabric I have for my gramma's journal. I know she'll love it. I just have to find some time to put it together.

Speaking of journals. My Donna Downey order will be here today!

And speaking of orders! I ordered from Creative Imaginations a few weeks ago. I wanted a specific set of papers that are made by Marah Johnson. When I placed my order, the papers were available. When I received my order, I was short nine pieces of the paper I ordered. I have emailed Creative Imaginations THREE times with no response. I am extremely disappointed. Extremely. Especially since I only ordered Marah Johnson's Bliss collection. The collection isn't complete with only half the paper.

Which reminds me of two other projects I'm working on! One for my mom for Valentine's Day. I am decorating a Maya Road Mailbox. It's super cute, I'll post photos after my mom gets it!

The other album (done in Cosmo Cricket's Get Happy) is a thank you gift for Andy and Samy for homing Alex for five days.

That's all for today. I hope to return tomorrow. We are expecting an ice storm and Darlene leaves for Italy tomorrow morning. The kids and I are driving her to the airport. I hope the weather is well enough for her to fly out on time.
