My sweet baby, cutie pants, little lover boy... is sick. Life is miserable around here. I try so hard to be sweet, loving and understand when the kids are sick. I know that they can't help being overly needy, tired and indecisive. It's just so difficult. It's so difficult because they (he in this case) can not communicate and I have to GUESS!
Lets start here. Alex came home from work early because he's also sick. I took Parker to the doctor, and when I got home, Alex went right to bed. (About four pm.) Currently it's 11:04 pm and he's STILL sleeping. The girls and I had some nice semi quiet time. Parker has done a ton of crying today. Which does not make our lives very easy. (My life rather.) The girls and I read a magazine (Nick Jr. to be exact), attempted "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." But that's as far as we got! Those girls, I tell ya what, they are going to be heartbreakers! Or maybe just a breaker of my heart!
Something I was thinking about today, who takes care of me when I'm sick. Who takes care of the kids... the house, the laundry, dishes, emails and phone calls from family. Who makes dinner, remembers the birthdays and anniversaries... who keeps my family together? While Alex does as much as he can while he's home... I certainly couldn't sleep my afternoon/evening away as he is right now. It frustrates me. Not because he's not helping, or doing anything... but because he can sleep while the kids are awake. He can sleep through Parker crying... Gabriella and Emmelia tip toeing through our bedroom... the whispering or yelling for that matter. I wish I could sleep sound again.
Anyways, today I painted Gabriella's finger nails. RED! She loved it. She wanted me to paint her toe nails, but I opted out of that... little did I know she would scale the counter and attempt painting her own toe nails. She didn't do too bad. She got some on the carpet... on her hands... all over the bottle... all over her toes... BUT she did manage to paint three ENTIRE toe nails! I should have snapped a photo of the crime scene, however my battery was dead, and I can't seem to find the replacement. Story of my life as of late.
Gabriella also got some temporary tattoos (thank you Gramma) for her birthday. Last time we put one on, about two weeks ago, she 'picked' it off right away. Or maybe it was still wet, and she touched it and it just kind of slid off. Either way she continued to ask several times if she could get a tattoo today. Of course she wanted it on her wrist- just like mommy's!
So the little squirt got a tattoo. Of a butterfly none the less.
Oh my gosh, and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!
The girls spent a lot of time playing in the room today. We had fun learning to throw, nicely. If anything like that really exists! Of course, jumping on the bed... and reading. I love this photo. It looks as if Gabriella is telling Emmelia a story. My sister Jacki and I, when the kids were just babies, would speak out loud for the girls. More or less putting words into their mouths because they weren't of the speaking age. So, I'm going to take a trip back into time and tell you the story I think Gabriella is telling Emmelia.

I believe Gabriella is saying: "Look sis, we each got one of these Bears from Aunt Sarah. That's why we call them our Sar-Bear. You can change their names, just because you WANT to. That's not a good enough reason. Let me tell you the story about the bear, then maybe you'll feel differently."
Emmelia with a puzzled look... as Gabriella says: "Aunt Sarah gave us each a bear for Valentines Day when we went to visit her in Michigan, where I was born. When you push a button inside of the bear she says, I love you, I love you, I love you. And Aunt Sarah loves us and wants us to remember that because we're so far away and don't see her very much."
Emmelia smiles, understands why the bear carries the name it does... and the rest my friends, is history!
Did I mention that ALL of my little lovers were in bed, and sleeping by 7:30 pm. If that's not a sign that they are sick... and exhausted, I don't know what is. I have now had FOUR hours of QUIET. My ears are ringing. It's insane! BUT!! I was able to get some scrappin' in. Though my work space is a disaster. (Oh... Emmelia is talking... hm.) I freak out when things are quiet. I have a overactive imagination- and it's not a good thing!!
Anyways, onto my creations!

I made this for my Great Aunt Pauline. She's amazing. She never forgets a birthday, always puts so much thought into the gifts she sends and even sends stuff just because. I haven't sent her a card lately, so I thought I'd make her one to show some appreciation.
I think I have too many years behind me of computer usage. My hand is starting to crap up so I must get going. I hope everyone has a fantastical evening! Till tomorrow...
Ta ta!

Oh, such words from a mother's heart that we ALL share! Jess, I swear I'm probably two decades older than you girl, but I am right there with you every step of the way! I have three ... 15,13, and 4 (our oops) and there are many, many days when I feel that this entire household would collapse if I got seriously ill. Men have this way of tuning everything out, it drives me insane! Anyhoo, I just wanted you to know that you're not alone, and you did the best thing you could today ... focus on having fun with those precious girls. Your photos are stunning--you really have a talent! Tomorrow's my day with my 4 yr old (she's only in pre-k 4 days) and you've inspired me to just chill and paint that girl's toes RED! hugs ...
