I used some plain grungeboard and my Sizzix machine to cut out the butterfly. Then I used two different color paint dabbers to paint the grungeboard. Once it dried, I sanded one side of the grunge board so you could see what it looked like before it was sanded, and after.
The left side has been sanded, the right side has not.
Next I used my ink blending tool to apply "walnut stain" (distress ink). This photo shows better the area that has been sanded.
Next, I sanded the right side, and applied the distress ink. Then I used my mini mister and sprayed water onto the right side-
The left side shows what the butterfly looks like when it's done being sanded, distressed and wiped clean.
I added some perfect pearls into the mini mister (with water) and sprayed a few pumps onto the butterfly to make it shine.
I'll add a photo of what it looks like finished tomorrow. (Providing I remember.) Or you can refer back to the make and takes I did at Michael's when T!m came to town.
Don't be afraid to really sand it either, the 'material' is very durable.
