A NO sew blanket... how to.

It has been a jam packed weekend! I've got tons to share... with out further ado!

A tie blanket.

Alex's work party is on Friday. Alex said we had to bring a $20- gift so I made a tie blanket ($30). We thought it was one gift per couple, then Alex called today and said it's one gift per person... ugh.

Really simple:
I started out buy purchasing a new pair of scissors. They can be quite pricey, don't forget a 40/50% off coupon. These ran me $40. but are well worth it! They even came with a pretty box!

I usually purchase two yards (72") of fleece. It can be any combination. Pattern on one side, or both and/or solid on one side or both. You can also purchase a "kit" with the fleece already cut, and matched up. (Pattern on one side, solid on the other.) It can sometimes be less expensive to purchase the set ($30).

For this one, I picked up the 'set' which is a pattern on one side, and a solid on the other.

Then, Alex and I laid the blanket on the floor. Be sure to match up all the corners.

I cut a 4"X4" square out of each corner. (5"X5" would be good too... maybe even better!)

I measured (and cut) 1 1/2" strips. (PITA)

Here's I am frustrated... at midnight. Cut, tie, tie, cut... cut, cut, cut! Tie, tie, tie, tie... did I mention, tie? AH!

Once all four sides were cut, I tied them... all the same. It probably would look better if they were all tied different, BUT, I like things, neat... and orderly.

Several posts to follow!
